DESCRIPTION
AND PROFILE

Tumble Tots is the UK's leading active physical play programme, introduced in 1979 by ex-British Olympic Gymnastics Team coach, Bill Cosgrave. The programme, supervised by teams of qualified staff, is designed to develop agility, balance and co-ordination in pre-school children. There are currently over 480 centres throughout the UK where weekly classes are structured for different ages and stages of development. Members are recruited through word of mouth, national and regional advertising and as part of their membership receive the newsstand parenting title Right Start magazine, an informative publication for mothers with children aged 6 months to 7 years.

Individuals on the file are predominantly mothers of Tumble Tots members. Profiling indicates that they are mainly aged 25-45 years, with above average household income. Spouse’s occupations are mainly in professional and senior management or self-employed. Credit/charge card ownership is very high and a good percentage of members regularly purchase by mail order. Amongst the top lifestyle interests are snow skiing, jogging/keeping fit, personal computing, gourmet cooking, cycling, golf, wine, theatre/arts, computer games and unit trusts/investments. There is also a high level of pet ownerhip. The list offers advertisers an ideal way of reaching affluent young families.
